Wanjiru Kanyi is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and the Founder of TrackSide Legal, a sports law initiative dedicated to simplifying the law and promoting clean, inclusive and fair sport.

She is a sitting member of the Sports Dispute Tribunal Bar Bench Committee in Kenya, bringing experience in legal practice, advocacy and legal education to the sports sector.

Through TrackSide Legal, Wanjiru Kanyi focuses on making complex legal frameworks accessible to athletes, sports organizations and other sports stakeholders. Her areas of focus include anti-doping law, athlete contracts, athletes’ rights, gender-based violence in sport, and responsible reporting in sport.

Through her work, she seeks to strengthen legal awareness within the sporting community and empower athletes and other stakeholders to better understand and protect their rights and responsibilities.
