Prof. Kyle Pierce

Kyle Pierce is an accomplished associate professor of kinesiology and health science at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. He is also the director of the LSUS United States Weightlifting Development Center. Pierce is a former weightlifter who has dedicated his career to the study of kinesiology, with a focus on sports and athletic performance, particularly in Olympic weightlifting.

Pierce has been recognized for his contributions to sports science and coaching innovation by receiving the United States Olympic Committee’s Doc Counsilman Science Award for 2005. The award is given to coaches who use research and develop innovative training methods to enhance athlete performance. Pierce was a finalist for the award in 2004 and received it in 2006 at the Night of Champions Reception at the United States Olympic Assembly in La Jolla, California.
